These 40 x 48 inch VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) paper sheets are produced at a 35 lb. basis weight and chemically treated to release vapor-phase corrosion inhibitors that form a protective molecular layer on ferrous metal surfaces. The continuous vaporization process actively displaces moisture and oxygen, blocking the electrochemical reactions responsible for rust and oxidation — without requiring direct contact between the paper and the metal.
The large sheet format is well suited to wrapping machined components, stampings, castings, tooling, and flat stock, as well as interleaving between layered parts during palletizing. Manufacturers, metal distributors, and export packagers use these sheets to protect ferrous parts through both domestic transit and long-term storage.
As a general coverage guideline, one square foot of VCI paper per cubic foot of enclosed space is recommended to maintain effective inhibitor concentration. Each case contains 200 sheets and ships via parcel carrier.
